Rev your engines for the 3rd Annual Wayzata Charity Car Show!
Alright, car lovers and curious onlookers, mark your calendars for Sunday, Sept. 15. The 3rd Annual Wayzata Charity Car Show is back, and itâs shaping up to be a wild ride from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hereâs the deal: This event was resurrected in 2022 by Wayzata Masonic Lodge No. 205, and in just a couple of years, itâs already become a must-see. It started with about 65 cars, then doubled that last year. This time around? The skyâs the limit.
Whatâs on display? Everything. Weâre talking about the classics, like early 1900s Ford Model Tâs, all the way to modern Ferraris that look like they could fly. Trucks, motorcycles, and specialty vehiclesâif itâs got wheels and an engine, itâs probably going to be there.
Itâs totally free. But, in true community spirit, you can throw in a free-will donation. Why? Because all the cash goes straight to good causesâlike local high school scholarships and educational reading programs.
But wait, thereâs more (as always). Itâs not just about ogling cars. Thereâll be food trucks dishing out all your favorites, live music to keep the energy high, and a bunch of trophies for the standout rides. Best in show, peopleâs choiceâwhatever your jam is, thereâs an award for it.
Pro tip: Start your day with the Wayzata Fire Departmentâs annual Firefighter Pancake Breakfast just two blocks from the car show. Pancakes, syrup, and community vibes? Yes, please.
Look, this isnât just another car showâitâs a full-on community hangout that brings together gearheads, families, and anyone whoâs up for a good time. If last yearâs any indication, this oneâs going to be bigger and better. So donât sleep on itâget downtown and be part of something awesome.
đThe action will be on Lake Street East and Minnetonka Avenue South.

if youâve got your sights set on becoming a police officer. Plymouth just rolled out an all-new Police Cadet program, and itâs designed to fast-track you into the force.
Hereâs the play: As a police cadet, youâre getting college tuition assistance to knock out that two-year law enforcement degree. Plus, youâre working a paid, part-time gig as a Community Service Officer in Plymouthâflexible hours, real experience, and cash in your pocket.
The endgame? After two years, youâre teed up to slide right into a full-time police officer role, pending an opening and you meeting the qualifications. Itâs like a job offer with a two-year runway.
Now, this isnât just a Plymouth thing. Itâs part of the West Metro Police Cadet Program, a multi-agency deal thatâs all about creating opportunities for future cops. Paid, part-time role: About 20 hours a week, working Community Service Officer duties. Itâs real-world experience, and youâre getting paid to learn.
Mentorship: Youâll be paired with a police officer whoâs going to show you the ropesâeverything from department values to handling the gear. Itâs like having a coach to guide you through the early stages of your career.
Hereâs a summary of the wages and benefitsâŚ
2024 pay: $24.38-$31.54
Cadets receive employer-paid medical, dental and life insurance.
Uniforms and equipment provided.
Opportunities for interdepartmental trainings involving other cadets from surrounding agencies.
âŚand a list of qualifications:
