đ˘ TALK OF THE TOWN

Mayor Johanna Mouton: The Leader Wayzata Didnât Just Want, But Needed
After 10 years of dedicated service, including a history-making run as Wayzataâs first female Mayor, Johanna Mouton is hanging up her mayoral hatâbut not before we give her a proper sendoff.
Her leadership journey started as a Council Member, where she quickly earned a reputation for making smart decisions and showing an unwavering commitment to Wayzataâs future. Four years ago, she leveled up, becoming the cityâs Mayor, balancing her civic duties with a full-time career like an absolute pro.
During her tenure, Mayor Moutonâs passion for Wayzata shined through everything she did. From her clear vision to her tireless work ethic, sheâs been the steady hand guiding our community toward a brighter tomorrow.
Now, itâs time to say thank you. Wayzata, letâs show our appreciation:
An open house is being held for Mayor Mouton on December 18th at City Hall from 5:00â7:00 p.m.
Light refreshments will be included as well!
Mark your calendar and join us to celebrate Mayor Moutonâs incredible contributions to our city.
From all of us: Thank you, Mayor Mouton.
Wishing you all the best in your next adventure!

Say "I Do" to the Plymouth Community Center
The City of Plymouth is rolling out the red carpet (well, probably more of a nice garden path) for an open house at the Plymouth Community Center on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5-7 p.m.
Hereâs why youâll want to swing by and check out if youâre looking for wedding options in Plymouth:
⨠The Plymouth Room â A stunning ballroom that seats up to 250 guests, complete with a stage, built-in bar, wrap-around deck, and panoramic views of the Millennium Garden.
đż The Millennium Garden â Natureâs dream wedding backdrop, accommodating up to 300 guests from May to September. Perfect for those outdoor wedding vibes.
đ Green Rooms â The ultimate prep spaces for the big day. Because getting ready deserves its own luxurious setting.
Whether youâre venue shopping or just want to soak in the charm of these spaces, take a self-guided tour of the newly renovated facilities and imagine your special day coming to life.
The event is free and open to the public, and even those whoâve already booked the space are welcome to join (bring the in-laws for a preview).

Kick Your Tree to the Curb (Literally)
Wayzata Public Works has your back with curbside Christmas tree and spruce top pickup starting the week of January 6.
Hereâs how to make sure your treeâs farewell tour goes smoothly:
Remove everything. That means no nails, screws, wires, tree stands, tinsel, plastic bags, glass, or metal decorations.
Make sure to keep your wreaths or toss them elsewhere.
If your treeâs still lounging curbside after January 19, itâs not too late!
Call Public Works at 952-404-5363 for a belated pickup.
Letâs make your treeâs post-holiday journey as seamless as your gift returns. đ˛
