📢 TALK OF THE TOWN

Plymouth Seeks Vendors for March 21 Discovery Event (Young Entrepreneurs Welcome)
When a city dedicates dome space to showcasing local businesses, nonprofits, and actual teenage entrepreneurs alongside city departments, that's community engagement beyond the usual chamber mixer.
Plymouth's seeking vendors for Discover Plymouth on Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Fieldhouse dome at Plymouth Community Center (14800 34th Ave. N). Local businesses, community groups, and nonprofit organizations can apply for booths to display and sell products or offer services – think home improvement, health and wellness, volunteering opportunities, family activities, handmade marketplace items, the full community spectrum.
The twist: for the second year, there's a designated young entrepreneur section for youth ages 18 and younger to showcase and sell their products or services. So alongside established businesses and nonprofits, you've got teenagers running their own booths, which either inspires hope for the future or makes you feel unaccomplished depending on your perspective.
Applications due 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 (downloadable via button below). The event itself is free to attend, designed as an interactive look at Plymouth featuring local businesses, city department reps, recreation programs, kids' activities, volunteer opportunities, and community services all in one location.
Four hours, one dome, everything Plymouth under one roof. March 21 attendees get the full community tour without leaving the building.
Vendor applications due Feb. 24, 4:30 p.m. Event March 21, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Plymouth Community Center. Questions: 763-509-5200 or [email protected]

Brew Park's Doggy Date Night: Where Valentine's Day Includes Your Third Wheel
When you can't decide between date night and dog park time, someone finally created the solution: combine them with wine and flatbreads.
Brew Park's hosting Doggy Date Night on Friday, Feb. 13 from 5-8 p.m. (2605 Fernbrook Ln N, Plymouth), and for $40 members/$50 non-members, you get single dog admission, two flatbreads, two 6-ounce glasses of wine (house red, house white, or Hampton Water), dessert for two, plus a special treat for your pup. It's Valentine's date night except your dog is there judging your romantic choices and begging for flatbread scraps.
Show your bartender a printed or digital ticket copy when ordering. Gratuity's not included in ticket price, so tip your bartender – they're dealing with couples and dogs simultaneously, which deserves acknowledgment.
The premise works: celebrate Valentine's Day with your significant other and your canine companion without choosing between them or leaving someone home alone looking pathetic. Your dog gets treats, you get wine and food, everyone wins except maybe the people who have to clean up afterward.
Three hours, one date, one dog, wine included. Valentine's Day for people who refuse to compromise on bringing their pets everywhere.
Feb. 13, 5-8 p.m. at Brew Park (2605 Fernbrook Ln N, Plymouth). $40 members/$50 non-members. Tickets at brewparkplymouth.com.

Breaking the Mold: Best Buddies Presents Inclusive Talent Show in Wayzata
When a student advisory board produces a talent show where the entire point is celebrating performers and breaking molds, that's community programming with clear priorities.
Best Buddies Minnesota presents "Limitless: A Best Buddies Showcase" on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at Folkestone (100 Promenade Ave, Wayzata), and it's exactly what the title promises – a talent show designed around inclusion where every performer gets celebrated. Light refreshments served, admission is free, donations to Best Buddies Minnesota accepted.
The Student Advisory Board is presenting this, which means teenagers organized and produced an event centered on making sure everyone who performs feels genuinely welcomed and valued. That's either remarkable maturity or excellent adult mentorship translating into actual student leadership. Probably both.
One evening, multiple performers, zero cost to attend, maximum focus on inclusion as the actual point rather than a side note. It's the kind of talent show where "breaking the mold" isn't just marketing language – it's the organizing principle.
Free admission means accessibility matches the inclusion message. Donations accepted for those who can support Best Buddies Minnesota's ongoing work. One night where the stage setup prioritizes celebration over competition.
Saturday, Feb. 21, 6 p.m. at Folkestone (100 Promenade Ave, Wayzata). Free admission, donations welcome.
