📢 TALK OF THE TOWN

Plymouth’s New Spot Is Turning Up the Heat (Literally)

Plymouth just got a serious upgrade in the wellness game. Perspire Sauna Studio, the nation’s fastest-growing infrared sauna chain, is open for business and ready to make you sweat (on purpose).

This isn’t your typical steam room situation, though. Perspire combines full-spectrum infrared sauna and red-light therapy to detox your body, burn calories, improve sleep, and ease pain.

The studio is owned by local entrepreneur and former finance pro Robin Grierson. After 12 years with Morgan Stanley, she traded stocks for saunas, first franchising European Wax Centers before diving into the wellness space with Perspire.

Why Perspire?

According to Grierson, it’s all about the benefits:

“There’s something for everyone—whether it’s athletes looking to up their game, people managing pain, or anyone wanting to relax and rejuvenate.”

The Plymouth studio is all about creating an immersive wellness experience with high-tech red-light therapy, concierge-level service, and premium amenities.

Translation: you’ll leave feeling like a million bucks.

Santa’s Writing Back? You Betcha.

Forget the North Pole – Santa’s setting up shop in Plymouth, and he’s ready to slide into your kid's mailboxes.

From Monday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Nov. 29, you can drop off letters to Santa at any of these spots:

📍 Plymouth City Hall (3400 Plymouth Blvd.)
📍 Plymouth Ice Center (3650 Plymouth Blvd.)
📍 Plymouth Community Center (14800 34th Ave. N.)

And here’s the kicker: Every kid who writes gets a personalized reply, courtesy of his elf squad.

Just don’t forget to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

So grab those crayons and wish lists. Santa’s waiting.

Wayzata’s Railroad Legacy: A History Lover’s Express Ticket

On November 21st, join Dennis Bartholow at the Wayzata Community Room (600 Rice Street E, Wayzata) for a deep dive into how the first train to Lake Minnetonka in 1867 put the town on the map.

Here’s what’s on track:

  • The arrival of the Saint Paul & Pacific Railway and how it shaped Wayzata.

  • Wayzata’s 157-year run as a railroad town—from the glory days to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line still rolling today.

  • Bonus stops: The rail history of Woodland, Orono, and Minnetonka Beach.

First come, first served—so grab your ticket to history before the train leaves the station!

Holiday Lights Fried? Recycle Them in Plymouth—For Free

Got a stash of broken holiday lights tangled in a drawer somewhere? Plymouth’s got you covered.

Starting Nov. 18, the city is offering free holiday light recycling at its Recycling Drop-Off Site (14900 23rd Ave. N.) until Jan. 31.

Here’s how it works:

  • 🎄 What’s Accepted: String lights (any bulb type) and extension cords—working or not.

  • 🚫 What’s Not Accepted: Pre-lit trees, glowing Rudolphs, fiberoptic décor, or anything that belongs on your lawn display.

Just toss your old lights in the marked collection boxes (NOT the regular recycling bins) and walk away guilt-free.

Bonus: You’ll save recycling facilities from equipment-destroying tangles.

Oh, and FYI: Holiday lights don’t belong in your curbside recycling bin. Ever.

If you miss this drop-off, you can always chuck them in the garbage or take them to a Hennepin County drop-off facility for year-round recycling.

📍 Recycling Drop-Off Site: 14900 23rd Ave. N.
🕒 Collection available 24/7

Keep it clean, Plymouth.
