Plymouth's 2025 Budget in the Works: What You Need to Know

As 2024 wraps up, Plymouth’s gears are turning on next year’s budget.

The City Council has approved a preliminary property tax levy increase of 5.2%—down from last year’s 7.5% hike. The final number could be lowered, but it won’t go higher.

Why does it matter?

For the median Plymouth home valued at $481,000, the tax increase will cost about $16 more annually.

The 2025 budget is part of Plymouth’s two-year cycle, designed for financial stability and long-term planning.

The city is analyzing utility rates, staff needs, and more, with plans to hire two new police officers, an assistant fire chief, and other key roles to keep the city running smoothly.
